Basic CPR

If a cardiac arrest happened to your loved one or a close friend, would you know how to perform life-saving CPR, which can double a victim´s chance of survival? Surprisingly, the vast majority of Americans don't.

When the heart stops, the absence of oxygenated blood can cause permanent brain damage in only a few minutes. Death will occur within approximately 8-10 minutes.

This class will cover the basic CPR steps and (AHA) adult "Chain of Survival" techniques that cover the signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults, as well as the pediatric infant and child "Chain of Survival" and signs of choking in infants and children.

This course meets or exceeds the 2005 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. The Basic CPR class covers the basics of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, foreign body airway obstruction for adult, child and infant patients.

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Heartsaver CPR certification card that is valid for two years.

These classes have been growing in popularity for homeowners associations and mothers groups here in the Austin area.

Evening classes are taught twice a month in Southwest Austin. The cost for this course is $40.00.
